GotScholarship $40K Give Away Rules and Regulations

Highlights:

• The US $40,000 transferable prize must be used for educational expenses.
• No purchase is required.

Eligibility:

• The GotChosen Scholarship Drawing is open to United States* and international students and alumni, 18 years or older. There is no cost to enter, and eligibility is not based on financial need or academic performance.
• Employees of GotChosen, Inc., their respective parents, immediate family members, and persons living in the households of each of these individuals, whether related or not, are ineligible for this drawing. 
• The drawing is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and the drawing or any offers herein is void where prohibited or restricted by law. 

The GotChosen drawing begins on March 18, 2013.

The cutoff date for the drawing is September 30, 2013 at 11:59PM, Eastern Standard Time

A random drawing from among all eligible entries received will be conducted in the U.S. under the direction of an independent auditing firm. The name of the winner will be announced on October 31, 2013 at http://www.gotchosen.com.

To Enter:

Existing GotChosen users simply need to Login, and click the “Apply” button in the Scholarship Panel for the GotScholarship $40K Give away.

New visitors to GotChosen must either (a) complete an on-line registration form at http://www.gotchosen.com and (b) click on the “Apply” button under the Scholarship Panel, or (c) hand-print or type in English their name, e-mail address, date of birth, street address, city, state, zip, phone number, and the name and the e-mail address of the person who invited them (if any) on a 3” x 5” card and mail it in a first-class stamped envelope to GotChosen $40K Give Away Scholarship, 12472 Lake Underhill Road #397, Orlando, FL 32828. All written registrations must be postmarked no later than September 30, 2013 at 11:59PM, Eastern Standard Time. Please be sure to include all the information requested. Incomplete written registrations will be disregarded and you WILL NOT be registered to participate in this drawing. GotChosen is not responsible for mailing costs.

By completing and submitting their registration, participants acknowledge and agree to the Rules and Regulations herein and to GotChosen’s Privacy Policy.

Sponsoring:

To sponsor someone, you must be registered and the person you sponsor must also be registered and have applied for the scholarship.  

• You can only sponsor one person, but you may be sponsored by an unlimited number of persons.
• You may increase your chances of winning by inviting one or more people to register and then sponsor you. Each person who does so gives you an additional entry. If those people also apply for a scholarship, then they will also each receive an entry.
• A person cannot sponsor himself or herself.

There are two ways to sponsor someone:

1. Go to your Profile page, type in the e-mail address of the person you wish to sponsor just below “Whom do you want to sponsor?”, then click the “Sponsor!” button.
2. Respond to an e-mail or social network post inviting you to sponsor someone.

To be sponsored, you must be registered as a GotChosen user, and also have applied for the scholarship.  The person who sponsors you must also be registered.  You receive an additional entry each time someone sponsors you, thus increasing your chances of winning.  There are two ways to request a sponsor:

1. Go to your Profile page and send an individual e-mail invitation.
2. Go to your Profile page, select the social network of your choice and, once logged in to your social network, share, tweet, or otherwise extend the invitation. 

Odds of winning: 
The winner of the drawing will receive a US $40,000 scholarship.  There will only be one winner.  The actual odds will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received prior to 11:59PM Eastern Time on September 30, 2013.  Each eligible entry will have an equal chance of winning.  

Prize Restrictions:

•  The prize is transferable. (person must be 18 years or older)
• The US $40,000 scholarship will be issued in one US $10,000 installment per year for four consecutive years:

        - Scholarship funds must be used educational purposes, such as tuition, fees, books, supplies, equipment required for study, contribution to a 529 plan or prepaid college program, or towards repayment of outstanding student loans.  

        - The winner must provide proof of legitimate educational expenditure of one year’s award in order to receive a subsequent installment.

• If any prize notification letter is returned to the Sponsor or its designated agent as undeliverable, the prize will be awarded to an alternative winner. 
• The winners’ name will be posted on http://www.gotchosen.com.  All information provided by eligible entrants will be verified.
• All federal, state, and local taxes and any other costs and expenses not specifically stated herein as being awarded are the winner’s sole responsibility.
• GotChosen reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time.

Prize Notification:
The winner will be notified by email or phone or U.S. mail or Federal Express at the address on the winner’s entry form. Instructions will be provided either to the winner or to a transferee/recipient designated by the winner. The winner (or transferee) will be required to provide picture identification, sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release, and (where not prohibited by law) a Publicity Release to be awarded the prize. In the event of noncompliance with the Official Rules, or the prize notification is unclaimed within 5 days of the date of the first notification attempt, or if any of the prize notifications are returned as undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner.

Additional Terms:
By participating, registrants agree to: (a.) the Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final in all respects; and (b.) release, discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless GotChosen, Inc., their respective trustee, financial institutions, affiliated advertising and promotion agencies, the respective officers, directors, agents, and employees of the aforementioned entities (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any liability, claims, or damages arising out of their participation in the GotChosen drawing and the acceptance, use, misuse, or possession of any prize.

By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to, where legal, the Sponsor’s and its designees’ use of his/her name and/or likeness for advertising and publicity purposes in any and all media now or hereafter known without compensation and hereby provides consent to such use. Under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages; b.) • A valid email address must be entered in your GotChosen’s Registration Profile for prize notification.

Video Scholarship Contest Rules and Regulations

• PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE INTERNET ACCESS, PROVIDE A VALID E-MAIL ADDRESS AND HAVE A VIDEO RECORDING DEVICE.
• WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED BY E-MAIL ONLY.
• NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
• VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. THIS CONTEST IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
• ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY.

Eligibility:

• The Video Scholarship Contest is open to US and international students, 18 years old or older. The contest is offered to all fields of study.
• Each participant must register at http://www.gotchosen.com, and create his/ her entry for the contest. A participant is defined as an individual, not a group.

• Only one (1) video submission per participant is permitted.
• Each participant must upload their video to YouTube, and then paste the link in the “Create New Entry” form.
• We recommend videos under 3 minutes. Supported YouTube file formats are: .MOV, .MPEG4, .AVI, .WMV, .MPEGPS, .FLV, 3GPP, and WebM.
• Only the one (1) participant submitting the video is eligible for the scholarship. The video may contain an unlimited number of people of any age, but only the participant submitting the video will be eligible to win.
• Video must be original, and the participant must have the rights to any media used. Videos must not infringe on any third-party rights or copyrights. During Phase One, if GotChosen receives a notice of copyright infringements from the owner of the material, the video in violation will be removed.
• Videos submitted for prior GotChosen contests are not eligible.
• Employees of GotChosen, Inc., their respective parents, immediate family members, and persons living in the households of each of these individuals, whether related or not, are ineligible for this drawing.
• The contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and the contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
• Fraud Prevention: Each video can be voted on once a day per IP address.
• Videos that are deemed to be immoral, obscene, profane; sexually explicit or suggestive; unnecessarily violent or derogatory of an ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; pornographic; contain nudity; promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons; promote any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous; promote particular political agenda or message; endorse forms of hate or hate group; or not in keeping with GotChosen's image; or are in violation of these Official Rules, may be disqualified and have the video removed.
• GotChosen reserves the right to remove any video that contains content that is deemed offensive in accordance to the specifications outlined in these rules and regulations and at its sole discretion.
• Entries that appear to duplicate any other submitted entries will be void and only the first entry submitted (based on time/date) will be included in the Contest.

Contest Details:

The Video Scholarship Contest has two phases.

Phase One

Phase One will begin on May 15, 2013. Participants will be able to create their entriesfor the public to view and vote for their favorite video.The public voting period will end on July 31, 2013 at 11:59:59 p.m. EDT. The number of votes received for each video will be tracked by GotChosen’s platform, and the Top 20 videos with the most votes will move onto Phase Two.

Phase Two

The participants of the top 20 videos will be notified by email and they will have 10 days to provide verification of eligibility and compliance with the rules and regulations. The participant’s videos will then be voted on by a panel of judges. The video with the most votes will be awarded the grand prize of a US $3000 scholarship and the next 4 runner-ups will each be awarded a prize of a US $250 scholarship. In case of a tie in Phase Two, the tie breaker will be the video that had the most public votes in Phase One.

The panel of judges will be represented by university professors, business entrepreneurs, and celebrities. Their identities will not be revealed until after the winners have been announced.

GotChosen will send weekly reports to the participants instead of displaying the number of votes during phase one so new participants are not discouraged to enter the contest. The name of the winners will be announced by September 10, 2013 at http://www.gotchosen.com.

To Enter:

In order to create your entry for the video contest, first, you must upload your video to YouTube, and then paste the link in the “Create New Entry” form.

Existing GotChosen users simply need to Login, and create your entry for the Video Scholarship contest based on the following 5 categories: Best Original Music, Friends, Best Trip Ever, Nature, and Helping Hands.

New visitors to GotChosen must: (1) complete an on-line registration and (2) create your entry for the Video Scholarship contest based on the available categories.

By completing and submitting their entry, participants acknowledge and agree to the Rules and Regulations herein and to GotChosen’s Privacy Policy.

Prize Information:

• The US $3,000 scholarship and each US $250scholarship will be issued in one installment. Scholarship funds must be used for educational purposes, such as tuition, fees, student loans, books, supplies, equipment required for study, or towards repayment of outstanding student loans.
• The winner's names will be posted on http://www.gotchosen.com. All information provided by winners will be verified before issuing the payment.
• All federal, state, and local taxes and any other costs and expenses not specifically stated herein as being awarded are the winner’s sole responsibility.
